Shabby Chic is an interior decorating style and is incredibly versatile. Anything vintage or distressed can be utilised,
we are using this technique for some of our pianos and will be showing more here as they are produced.
In the past 40 years at Kimble Reynolds Pianos we have re-polished in Genuine Traditional French Polish over a thousand pianos. But now the Tides of Time have changed and we are frequently asked to produce a Shabby Chic paint finish and I would like to take you through the journey of producing a Shabby Chic Grand Piano with Gold Embellishments, with the aid of Youtube and my website.

The Piano is taken apart ready for cleaning, sanding, and priming.
We have now discovered that under the original French Polish, a lovely Sapele Mahogany Veneer has emerged which will now have a clear lacquer polyurethane finish. This being the case more sanding preparation will be necessary.
