Bands of Hope and Glory,
was on the 13 August 2023 - 12 noon till 6 pm.
At the Sparrows Nest, Lowestoft
This wonderful free entry event went really well with great weather,
great music and stalls of all shapes and sizes.
Opened by Kimble Reynolds and the Lowestoft Mayor, Sonia Barker.
Great music was played by Hot and Cold Ground, the Lowestoft Longshoremen, Dirty Lookz, Rock Garden and Little Big Mouth.
A fantastic Tai Chi demonstrations by Kuk Sool Won.
There were also many stalls to visit featuring a Portrait painter, Face Painting by Beth, Jane Masons Jewellery, Stephan Smiths Crystals, Tin in Fudge, Grants homemade Gin, The Hair Bow stall, the Pakefield Scouts and of course Ataxia UK had a stall with lots of information about this charity and its work.
We hope that all who attended had a great day out for this wonderful Charity event raising money on behalf of Ataxia UK.

Bands of Hope and Glory
In Aid of Warren School Sensory Gardens
14th August 2022 from 12pm onwards

Back after all the Pandemic problems,
we hope everyone is all ok after this difficult time.
We had lovely very hot weather with a great day had by all, the Bands all played well and were enjoyed as they entertained the crowds coming along to see the acts, the dancers and browse the stalls some with freshly painted faces and they could also watch the live artwork being created by the talented painter.
Many thanks to the performers on the day, The 'Signing' Choir, Stars of Stage Extravaganza, Kuk Sol Expert Martial Arts Demonstration, Dirty Lookz Rock band, The Uninvited, Rock Garden, Hot and Cold Ground (stalwart performers who have performed from the very start of all our Bands of Hope and Glory Events), Charlotte the winner of Gorlestons got Talent and Percys Pearls.
We hope everyone had a great time and many thanks for the money raised for the Warren Association Trust.

Bands of Hope and Glory on 11th August 2019
At the Sparrows Nest in Lowestoft went very well indeed.
This was the 9th year of its running and had a great audience who enjoyed great music and events, it Featured brilliant Rock and Blues bands and this year a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Fancy dress Theme, with a special appearance of the Lowestoft Players who recorded a performed a sneaky preview of Ian Flemings Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Performers of the day featured Carly Beamish an up and coming talented singer, The Junk shop poets/John and Justin Reach, Rock Garden, Hot and Cold Ground, The Uninvited, Coronation Kings, Chris James who appeared on the voice to name but a few of the outstanding local performers and talent. Along with Stalls and Raffles a great time was had by all.

Bands of Hope and Glory,
was on Sunday 12th August 2018
At the Sparrows Nest, Lowestoft
The Eighth year of this wonderful free charity event went really well despite a few spots of rain, with Hot and Cold Ground, New World Service, Graham and Bob, Breakfast at Timothy's, Tiah-Paige Davey and a Tai Chi Demonstration, there was stalls featuring Fortune Telling, Candles, Cakes, Sweets, Brick-a-brack, a Magician, Face Painting, Cribs and Bibs and Poppy Riley, with many other fun events. The event was Fancy Dress as well with prizes for the Best Witch or Wizard. We will be doing this again next year in August so mark it in your diary.

Sing-A-Long-A-Motown
Was Held on 26th May 2018 Blundeston Church Suffolk.
after the snow caused us to have to cancel in March.
It Featured The Dynamic Somerleyton Strummers, Treble Clef and The Drakerleles, to name a few, with Food and Drink available, a great Entertainment was had by all.
People came along in Motown Themed Fancy Dress and many of the Bands also dressed for the occasion.
Over £800 was raised for the two charities The East Coast Hospice and Hospital Radio Yare.

The Bands of Hope and Glory
Sunday 20th August 2017, At the Sparrows Nest Lowestoft, went Really well
Fantastic weather, great music from Hot and Cold Ground, The Vibettes,
New World Service, The Oulton Broads, Looney Tunes Band,
Crystalettes Twirlers, Skate Box - Bmx Entertainment and Demonstration,
The Waveney Author Group, with Suzan Collins author of Chatty Cat,
With prizes for best fancy dress, along with Stalls, Raffle and a Mega Bouncy Castle.
We hope everyone had a great day and enjoyed all the entertainment.

The Singa Longa ABBA
at the Blundeston Church, Suffolk, 22nd April 2017
Went really well for all who attended and performed.
All funds raised are for the East Coast Hospice and Hospital Radio Yare.
It featured the Ukelele Strummers, Treble Clef, The Oulton Broads and Bob McNeilWatson on the Organ, with food, raffle and entertainment for all.

At the Sparrows Nest Lowestoft
This years event went really well, great weather with sunshine throughout the day, The Grand opening with Boopy Bear and Beepy Bear was followed by Hot and Cold Ground, Distant Sun, The Somerleyton Ukulele Strummers, Parallel Times - Blondie Tribute, European Champion contenders - The Waveney Skating Team, New World Service, Breeze, Skate Box - Bmx Entertainment and Demonstration, the AJ Experience, Treble Clef and finishing off the great day with Electro swing from Tullulah Goodtimes.
There was also Tumble tots, Bens Bouncy Castles, Face painting, with various other stalls.
Prizes for best Space Aliens, Cuddly toys give away and much more.

Sing Along - Sound of Music
was on the 20th February 2016
At the Blundeston Church, Suffolk
Fancy Dress in the Theme of The Sound of Music and Austria.
This event went really well with everyone having a great time
singing along and enjoying the whole evening.

2015 Bands of Hope and Glory

This years charity event went very well with everyone enjoying music from
Hot and Cold Ground, Vibe, Verso Muso, New World Service,
Somerleyton Ukulele Strummers, The Oulton Broads and Treble Clef x 2
Also there was Bens Bouncy Castles, Cuddly Toys, Mega Raffle Bottle Game,
Woody Bear from Pleasurewood Hills, Yare Bear, Boopy Bear and Beepy Bear.
Stalls of all types, Tumble tots, food and drink, raffles, games.

2014 Summertime Fun in the Park
Was on the 3rd August 2014
The day was a great one with sunshine all the way through, over a thousand people were treated to music dancing and events and a great day was had by all, with all money, generously donated, going to the East Coast Hospice.

Confirmed for the 2014 show were, the Blondie Tribute Band - Parallel Times, Verso Muso, Hot and Cold Ground, The Dumisani Drummers, After Shock, The Oulton Broads, Kate Curtis and the Students of Ormiston Denes Academy, Paul Phoenix, Bouncy Castles, Stalls of all types, Tumble tots, food and drink, the Mascot Race, Raffles, Face Painting, The Bubble experience (Kids come and blow the biggest bubble in the world!).


The Fantastic Concert was on the 4th August 2013
(with a New Improved show)
The whole event went very well, going on till after 7pm in the evening with the audience enjoying all of the bands, dancers, drummers and choirs. There were raffles, bouncy castles, childrens play area and the mascots race, everyone had a great time.

The Summertime Fun in the Park on 26th August 2012
Went very well, £365 was raised and will go to the East Coast Hospice, despite a bit of rain early on, which very quickly cleared, everyone had a great time.
A music CD will be produced soon featuring the live performances at this fun in the park event.

The Joyful Noise Concert in Lowestoft
on the 26th of November 2011 was full of Joy
The whole concert went well raising nearly £900 towards the building
of an East Coast Hospice.

Summertime Fun in the Park 2011 went very well
The report below can be clicked on to make it clearer to read, taken from the Lowestoft Journal Friday 26th August, it tells of the event and how well it went raising nearly £600 for the Childrens ward of the James Paget University Hospital. This, now annual event, will be held again next year (2012) exact dates to be announced.
